Guild structure and general rules
First off, I want to welcome and thank all members who have taken the step to join our forum. As we expand this forum will become an important tool in coordinating guild events and setting up times to meet for instance runs. It can also be used to post ideas for advancing our guild and our characters.
A lot of thought has been put into the construction of the CotP (Council of the Phoenix). We are still young and we are learning and are very open to ideas put forward by any members. Critiques are welcome and wanted. I want this guild to offer the BEST expirience to all members. We are a leveling guild. Meaning that our focus is on recruiting all classes and lvls, from 20 on up, for the purpose of banding together to work on instances and quests together. As we grow and progress, and our mainstay players advance in lvl, our recruiting requirements will raise. We will start recruiting higher lvls only and focusing higher lvl instances; then finally turning into an Outlands lvl 60 and up guild. This transformation will take a lot of time and I dont mean to scare away lower lvl players because we plan on having you grow with us.
Our current GM is myself, Augusta. Our officers are Kalypsonite and Kitayoshii; both of whom put alot of work and gold into helping starting the guild. In the future, as we grow, new officer slots will be added and filled by Veteran lvl players. This brings me to our guild hierarchy. We have 5 levels within our guild. The first is Initiate, and this is the default lvl all recruits start at. Initiates have no access to the guild bank, and are considered here on a probationary basis. All active initiates will be awarded 1 Service point on saturdays. After an Initiate aquires 4 service points they are promoted to Member. A member is given limited access to the guild bank and the ability to recruit new members. Members also have the ability to begin earning Duty points. Duty points are awarded for going above and beyond the call of duty. For instance, Hosting a guild event, making a rare or sizable donation to the guild bank, or for helping lower lvl players by running an instance or assisting with buying a mount. Basically it's decided on a case by case basis, and only 1 duty point can be earned in any given week. As an incentive to get people to register here at the forum and to get used to checking in, duty points will only be awarded to players who are registered. Once a member aquires 8 service points, and are registered on the forum, they are promoted to Veteran. A veteran is considered a trusted member of the CotP and is given greater bank access and have a say in guild elections. All officer spots that open are filled by Veterans, nominated by other veterans and voted on by the current officer staff. In contrast, when the GM posistion opens up (at too be determined intervals) officers nominate potential replacements and veteran members vote for the new GM. This is somewhat a system of checks and balances.
All CotP members are required to be active players, but we realize that everyone has a life outside of the game. The officers are undecided as to what constitutes "Active" and for the first month we are setting our requirement at one week. This means that if you haven't been on with your character for 7 days a vote will be cast by the officers to kick the member. I dont think its asking to much to play at least once a week, I also realize that some people are more causual about their play and that's fine, but it's not the direction we want to go as a guild. Exceptions can be made by talking to an officer of GM on a case by case basis. Things such as vactions, moving, finals coming up, and almost any excuse will be considered. We are not monsters, we just want an active group to grow with us.
This covers the bare basics of the guild and I will be updating it every week on fridays. So please check back to find out all the happenings. Lol. Have fun and get good drops.
